Our team is excited about the future and the numerous opportunities this will generate. We are sure many of our fans will have questions about this acquisition, and we would like to take some time to add extra clarity.

What does this mean for New World Interactive?

New World Interactive will continue to operate as an independent studio under the Embracer Group’s Saber Interactive branch. Our core leadership, creative, and development teams remain unchanged. Through this partnership, we will be able to continue expanding our team in terms of both numbers and capabilities. This includes growing our team in Calgary, Alberta, and opening an additional studio in Montreal, Quebec.

What does this mean for Insurgency: Sandstorm?

Development on Insurgency: Sandstorm continues as usual. Clean Sweep is due to launch this month, and our team is hard at work preparing content for update 1.8 scheduled to launch in the fall. We can also confirm continued development support and content updates for Insurgency Sandstorm into 2021.

We are delighted to announce a partnership with Saber Interactive, who have developed, co-developed, and ported dozens of major titles across multiple platforms. These include World War Z, Crysis Remastered, Halo: The Master Chief Collection, Quake Champions, The Witcher 3: Wild Hunt 4K, and many others.

They bring a wealth of technical expertise and console experience that New World Interactive will benefit from. New World will be working with Saber to bring Insurgency: Sandstorm to current and next-gen consoles in 2021.

What does this mean for future projects?

As mentioned in Embracer’s press release, New World Interactive will be developing a new unannounced IP as our team grows. We have a small prototyping team focused on our next title and are actively exploring new gameplay innovations. We will be scaling up our development team, which will enable us to run multiple projects, with one team focusing on this new project and one team focusing on continued support and updates for Insurgency: Sandstorm.

The development of this new title will take several years; however, based on the prototyping so far, we can say our team is already very excited!

Closing:

On behalf of everyone here at New World Interactive, we would like to thank each and every one of our players for supporting us throughout our exciting journey. New World Interactive has come a long way over the last ten years, and we look forward to taking the next big step forward. Our partnership with Saber Interactive and Embracer will enable us to increase the quality and scale of our products for players, as well as explore interesting new opportunities — while still remaining the New World Interactive that our fans have come to know and love!
